Wake Up to a New Alarm Clock

Updated on November 24, 2015

Alarm Clocks

Unlike most consumer products, alarm clocks don't break very often! Since they don't break, we don't need to replace them very often but they're an important part of most people's lives. How else would you make it to work on time every day?

Once in awhile, even though you don't think you need a new alarm clock because yours still works, you'll be quite surprised at how nice it is to have a new modern one! Alarm clocks have come a long way towards effectiveness and uniqueness. You'll find lots of fun new features, even a clock that you have to get out of bed to catch when the alarm goes off.

Make sure there's a snooze button on your new clock! It's something that you'll appreciate.

Alarm Clocks Set the Mood for the Day

Alarm clocks do a lot more than wake you up in the morning. They set the stage for your entire day.

Wake up to an annoying blast and there's a chance you might be grumpy for the rest of the day. Wake up too gently after staying up too late and you might not be snapped into the day properly, going through the day in a sleepy haze.

Make your day better and brighter by buying yourself the right alarm clock to start your day.

Remember, just because it's useful doesn't mean it has to be boring.

Homedics makes really nice alarm clocks with everything you need and more

After doing research, I found this Homedics SS-5010 Soundspa Premier Am/Fm Clock Radio. It's a clock that I would be happy to own.

Here's all the features: This clock has an indoor/outdoor temperature reading with a remote sensor, an AM/FM clock radio, a projector that shows the time and temperature on the ceiling, and a dual alarm feature, something I need! It also features 6 nature sounds – waterfall, rainforest, rain, thunder, summer night and ocean sounds. It's everything you need to wake up right!

An iPhone Alarm Clock

An iPhone works great! This is the alarm clock that I use. You can set it to go off on certain days, such as weekdays or weekends. Unlike a regular alarm clock, you can even change the tone to one of about 20 different ones.

The iPhone is my favorite alarm clock

I use my iPhone to wake me up every day. I don't even have a special app, I just use the one that comes standard with the phone. You can set as many alarms as you want and there's snooze on each of those. I think mine go off about 5 times before I get up but they always work.

There's one thing that you have to be careful about and that's the volume on the phone. Sometimes I turn my volume down and then forget to turn it back up. Then when the alarm goes off in the morning, it's really quiet and I don't hear it. It's happened to me a couple of times so thank goodness that my internal clock works and I don't usually over sleep. The alarm will still ring out loud even if it's on vibrate but the volume still needs to be turned up.

Another cool feature is that you can set the alarms to go off on certain days, like week days or weekends, or every Monday or every other day. You really don't need another alarm clock with all those options available.

My Next Favorite Kind of Alarm Clock

Alarm clocks that make it impossible to ignore them

One of the best ways to get yourself up is to make it hard to hit the snooze button on your alarm clock and a lot of these alarm clocks do just that! Some hide and some run away. The harder it is to turn them off, the better.

Find Your Very Own Clocky Alarm Clock with Wheels

Clocky Alarm Clock, made by Nanda Home, will get you out of bed. Clocky gives you a chance to get up but if you don't, Clocky jumps off your nightstand and runs around your room looking for a place to hide, alarm blaring, the whole time. You’ll have to get up to turn off the alarm. Make sure that the bedroom has enough room for this clock to run around though or it won't be able to move much. It comes in all different colors so it goes with any decor.

Where Did it Go?

Chasing a clock around in the morning would definitely wake me up! I think this is a great idea because you need to get your brain moving in order to get out of the house on time. Plus, once your blood is pumping, it's simple to wake up.

Catch This Flying Alarm Clock to Turn it Off

Tech Tools Flying Alarm Clock

This is one of the most humorous and clever ideas I’ve seen so far. When the alarm on this clock goes off, a helicopter flies into the air, carrying the key to turn off the alarm. The only way to shut the alarm up is to get out of bed and find the key! It gets your brain and your body moving so you'll be fully awake by the time you turn it off.

Catch the Key!

As frustrating as this one would be, it would definitely get you moving in the morning! The key flies away and you have to find it to turn the alarm off. Who knows where it will land?

Lego Clocks for Kids

Legos are hot with kids right now so an Emmet alarm clock would be perfect! Gets them up out of bed and ready for the day! Since Emmet will be waking them up and not you, he'll take the brunt of the abuse from a kiddo that doesn't like getting up in the morning.

Make Sure Your Kids Get Enough Sleep

It's great to find an alarm clock to wake your kids up but the best alarm clock for them is their natural body clock. Without enough sleep, kids can get hyperactive displaying symptoms of ADHD, lose the ability to concentrate, and become obese. It's important for them to get enough sleep and then they will wake up without the help of an annoying alarm clock.

Bed Shakers?

A vibrating disc wakes you up along with the alarm going off. You slip it under the mattress and then the bed shakes until you turn off the alarm. This is for the really deep sleepers that have a terrible time waking up.

Use Two Alarm Clocks or One with Dual Alarms

Sometimes I just can't get up in the morning so I always make sure to have at least 2 alarms set... just in case. Most of the time I hit snooze through the first one but the second one is the one that actually gets me up in the morning. It can be really hit or miss on whether one will wake me up or not.

If an alarm clock works, teens won't be late!

The next one might not be your style but it will definitely be the style of a teen that has a hard time getting out of bed and ready for school in the morning!

The Skull

Sonic Skull Crusher Alarm Clock

The Skull” alarm clock is quite unique. It features bright red flashing eye sockets, a deadly bone crusher bed shaker, and a strip of flashing alert lights. If that doesn’t do the trick, how about 113 decibels of a screaming terrifying sound? You can also enjoy your own music using your own mp3 player.
